Where you can find us...

The Village des Tanneries is a former industrial area that, at first glance, might seem to be one of the more disadvantaged and neglected neighborhoods in the city. Many of the homes and italian gardens that once flourished in the area, were expropriated in the late 60s when the Ville Marie Expressway was constructed in time for Expo '67. No protective measures were ever taken to buffer the community from the pollution of the highway overhead.

In the shadow of the Ville Marie Expressway, the community is sandwiched between rue St Jacques street to the north, the CN tracks to the south, rue St Remi to the West and rue De Courcelles to the East.
