Anyone can be a member of the Village des Tanneries
When the Citizens' Committee was first established in 2002-03, members at that time made a deliberate choice not to follow the traditional path of most community groups. We felt that our membership was not stable enough to warrant the bureaucracy and legal liability that registration as a formal community organization entailed... Nor did we want to risk becoming caught up in the institutionalization that paralyzes so many groups. We just wanted to create opportunities to bring neighbors together and contribute towards building a cohesive, vibrant neighborhood.

ANYONE can be a member, provided that they adhere to
the CCVT basic goals and values of
community building, active citizenship and respect for others.
Monthly coordination team meetings are open to all guests upon request.

Membership fluctuates from year to year and
not every member can participate to the same degree;
not everyone has the same interests or availability.
The CCVT does not claim to represent the varied members of the community
of the Village des Tanneries but we do have an extensive network. as such, we hope to provide everyone with 1) opportunities to get involved and feel good about their neighborhood 2) an access point to other community services and ressources and 3) a voice both within the neighborhood and within the larger community.
